I utilized light and texture to create a relatable experience to moments that people have never experienced before. The acyclic painting "Our Last Painting" uses bright colors and quick brushwork to capture a fleeting moment. The ceramic sculpture "Save Him, Not Me" has a rough texture and uses reds on the back to create the sense of being injured.
Regardless of the medium, the rabbit is the perfect catalyst for my work because of its expressive nature and versatility. In various media, they are depicted as either adorable or horrific. This dichotomy fascinates me. In ceramic sculpture, acrylic, and watercolor painting. To make the animals feel relatable I use non-local or unnatural colors, textures, and use our body language and gestures.
